I am a contemplative truth seeker. I am the mother of 2 teenage boys who are awesome. I live on 60 acres in the country where I enjoy quiet and nature. I am a veterinarian working as a freelance writer of medical information - this pays the bills. I am a scientist of the mind - psychology and physiology - and a purveyor of evolving consciousness thought. I am a Spiritual Director and studying to be an Oblate of the Order of St Benedict. I am a progressive Christian that believes in ecumenism and interfaith exchange. I love spiritual poetry and write some myself. I think our external crises - societal (USA) and global- are reflections of individual spiritual crisis and I am passionate about educating people about their faith tradition and allowing them to experience the spirit through the beauty of truth of all sacred writing and prayer. (I think religion has botched this responsibility in a BIG, BIG way). I am persuing a Masters in Theology in order to address the lack of spiritual education now offered to laity. I love music and have a small trio who do Taize prayer services for charity around Kansas City (called In Harmony). I like opera, symphony, rock, jazz, and movies that make me think. I am a liberal - enlightenment and liberality go hand in hand. I love Obama and believe in his leadership. And in the words of Brian McLaren, Everything MUST change!
