I am retired accountant who has lived half my life in Sri Lanka which is the land of my birth, and the balance half in my adopted homeland of Canada. In addition to academic qualifications from Sri Lanka, I have acquired professional qualifications from the UK and Canada. I have been active with the Jaycee Movement in Sri Lanka having been awarded the Most Outstanding Jaycee of Sri Lanka Award in 1972 and also served on the Jaycees National Board in Sri Lanka. In Canada, I have volunteered my services with several community organizations, serving in the executive ommittees in the capacity of secretary, vice president and president.
