I'm a student of sacred ecology and interspecies communication. After 35 years as a student and teacher of history and anthropology in Australia, India and USA, I returned in 1995 to my home country, New Zealand, to live on remote land in the Marlborough Sounds so I could learn directly from animals, plants and earth. Permanent protection has been given the property, its forest and its critters under a non-revocable open space covenant. I share the land and its teachings with shamanic workshop groups, and I lead journeys in NZ, Australia, the Himalaya and India to learn from indigenous friends. Occasionally, I also revisit the mysterious tribes of academe.
